The types are:-

(A) Kraft(non-white)  

 The hardest packing paper , cheaper and big in size and used mainly in :-

(1) Bags for consumption uses and industrial uses like packing of

cement and fertilizers.

(2) Making gummy paper boxes.

(3) Making cartoon boxes.

(B) Kraft (non-white)

the main uses when it is covered by

اAlminum  to make cheep containers for liquid products like milk or juice fruit .

(C) Al Glaseen

 carton resisting to oil. Al Glaseen is a very shiny paper with flat surface like glass. It can be dark or colored or white:-

These papers can be used as it is or after covered by similar papers or           different papers. By nature do not permit gass penetrati

         Slofan

The most successful packing material and comes third in use after paper and poly Ethilin. The most characteristics of this type:-

1- Bright and shiney surface.

2- Resisting to gass or moisture penetration.

3- Highly acceptable for printing.

4- Successfully used on quick packing machines.

5- Satisfy needs of materials resisting moisture in different levels.

6- Can be used with other types of packing materials by gum or covering by Ethileen.

        GLASS

It is used in large quantities because of its unique qualities fox. Example it is not affected chemically with the contents of bottles. Other qualities of glass are:-

1- Contents of glass can last for a long period.

2- Glass bottles can be used again after being washed and cleaned.

3- Commodities stored in dark colored glass can resist light.

4- Metal Cans: - In 1809 Nicolas Abeir succeeded in producing food in cans. Protection of food in cans differ from one commodity to other according to condition of storage. Types of protection are:-

(a) Mechanical protection which means that a commodity reaches the consumer in good condition.

(b) Natural protection means protection from any gasses or bad smell affecting content of can.

(c) Chemical protection means perverting any side effects that may result from cans on contest.

      PLASTIC

The number of this type cannot be counted due to many reasons. The most important is economic because the producer due to competition prefers using best alternative to the old fashion packing and filling materials (carton, paper, glass, metal).

Today there is about 10-20 types of plastic used successfully in packing industry. poly ethilin type cans at top of this group and characterized by big volume of use, easy use, and cheep price. Another type is poly stareen and poly perbleen
