Sudan is
one of the richest countries in the field of animals in both
African and Arab countries, the increase of this wealth
helped in raising the averages of its number that during the
years from 1981– 1999 there
hasn’t
any decline in its number only during 1985 1986 and that
was the season of drought and desertification passed by the
country . the Sudanese animal resources characterized by its
depending on natural grazing lands , its free of diseases
caused by industrial food and this property made the
Sudanese animals recourses very desirable in the foreign
markets such that it brings hard currency of animal exports
, meat , hides . and to encouragement marketing , the
public corporation for animal & meat marketing has been
established in 1977 to contribute in facilitate flow the
animal resources towards international markets in scientific
planned way to facilitate and increase the national revenues
contribute in inducing more hard currency .

Livestock distribution areas

In Sudan
the livestock depend basically on natural conditions and
climates ,the existence of any kind of animals depend on its
adjust to live in such environment for example :

Camels
: live in desert and semi desert areas ,found in
eastern Sudan Botana , northern Kordofan and northern
Barfur .

Cattle
: found in the rainy areas in the south of Sudan
,southern Kordofan and southern darfur .

Goats
& sheep : found in general in western Kordofan
especially western Kordofan state Gheebash area ) and in
northern Kordofan .
Livestock types :

Sheep :
contains kabashi Hamari , in the west Abaladi and Algarag
( half blooded between Albaladi and other ) found in the
central o Sudan also we have Alwatesh kind in the blue
Nile area .

Camel :
contains : Aalshokri , Albejawi , Alanafi ,Albaladi it
concentrate in the east and west of the Sudan .
